QuickBird was a high-resolution commercial earth observation satellite launched in 2001. It offered sub-meter resolution imagery, high geolocational accuracy, and large on-board data storage. QuickBird’s orbit was raised in 2011 to extend the mission, and it re-entered the Earth’s atmosphere on 27 January 2015, ending its life. Archive imagery from this satellite is available in our image library.
