Basic Satellite Imagery

Ortho Ready Standard Stereo

For users with knowledge of remote sensing applications and image processing tools. Ortho Ready Standard Stereo Imagery products are typically used to create Digital Elevation Models or for three-dimensional feature extraction for small Area of Interest (AOI).

Basic Stereo

For users with advanced image processing capabilities and photogrammetric tools and who have software that is capable of ingesting, processing, and/or displaying stereo imagery. Basic Stereo Imagery products are typically used to create Digital Elevation Models or for three-dimensional feature extraction requiring large area coverage.

Uses

These products are ideal for Digital Elevation Model (DEM) generation, 3D visualization, and feature extraction applications. Stereo images are collected in-track, meaning on the same orbit, and are acquired at angles optimal for stereo viewing and manipulation.

Geometric Corrections
  • Ortho Ready Standard Stereo is projected to a plane using map projection and datum, and a constant base elevation but has no topographic relief applied with respect to the reference ellipsoid, making it suitable for orthorectification. The constant base elevation is calculated on the average terrain elevation per order polygon or can be supplied by the customer.

  • Basic Stereo Imagery products are radiometrically-corrected and sensor-corrected, but not projected to a plane using a map projection or datum. The sensor correction blends all pixels from all detectors into the synthetic array to form a single image. The resulting GSD varies over the entire product because the attitude & ephemeris slowly change during the imaging process.

+ Delivery

Our stereo images can be acquired directly from the DigitalGlobe archive or you can submit a new collection request. Ortho Ready Stereo is delivered based on the AOI and can be tiled. Products are delivered by FTP or on DVD with all the Image Support Data files needed for photogrammetric processing, including a stereo file that identifies the images in the pair and collection angles, attitude and ephemeris data, geometric calibration, camera model, image metadata, radiometric data, and rational functions.
