Ground Station

European Space Imaging owns and operates a multi-mission capable ground station with direct link to and from the WorldView satellites, enabling flexibility and optimised collection strategies.

Direct Tasking

  • Real-time weather assessment
  • Last minute, hands-on scheduling
  • Rapid delivery

Direct Access Facility

The Direct Access Facility (DAF) directly tasks the WorldView satellites from the DigitalGlobe constellation.

European Space Imaging’s DAF is located on the grounds of Germany’s national aerospace research centre (DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich, and is operated in cooperation with the German Remote Sensing Data Center (DFD).

The DAF provides a direct data uplink and downlink to WorldView-1, WorldView-2 and WorldView-3. Direct tasking using local real-time weather data assures almost 95% cloud-free coverages.
